MANCHESTER, N.H. — Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Mitt Romney expected to be coming to New Hampshire this week to pin down presidential nominations of their parties after winning the Iowa caucuses only five days earlier. Instead, they’re here fighting for their lives.

Both Clinton and Romney face uphill struggles to win in New Hampshire on Tuesday. They encounter different kinds of struggles — Clinton against charismatic newcomer Sen. Barack Obama, Romney against prestigious war hero and longtime public servant Sen. John McCain.
