With the Hispanic leadership in Nevada largely lined up against him in Saturday's caucuses, Mr. Obama used a question about his support of immigration overhaul to appeal to the Hispanic rank-and-file. Mr. Obama also began airing advertisements in Spanish yesterday in a last-ditch appeal for the Latino vote.

Though Mr. Obama enjoys support from two of Nevada's largest unions, there's competition here between black and Hispanic residents for jobs and housing, and most observers believe the Latino vote will go against him.
